Roadways, driveways, roofs and paving increase the amount of water flowing into our stormwater systems then into local creeks and rivers before much of it ends up in the Bay. Higher stormwater flow carries pollutants and can cause erosion to local waterways.<\/p>\n<p>Adding a rain garden to your property &#8211; using Australian native plants = is a great way to slow down stormwater flow while also adding local habitat plants to your garden.<\/p>\n<p>Maroondah Council has identified rain gardens as one way to protect local wildlife corridors such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/yoursay.maroondah.vic.gov.au\/dtb-biolink?utm_source=mcc-public&amp;utm_medium=consultation-banner&amp;utm_campaign=dtb-biolink&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=button\">Dandenong-Tarralla-Bungalook Biolink<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3e4b5c0 e-flex garden:<\/p><ul><li>Identify a suitable location such as a rainwater tank overflow or existing stormwater flow toward a stormwater pit.<\/li><li>Get plumbing advice to ensure stormwater flow is away from foundations and complies with plumbing regulations and requirements.<\/li><li>Access the notes from our recent ECAM Australian Native Rain Garden workshop held on 18 April (click on the link to
